To support the High Lonesome Mesa Wind Energy Center, RETA issued $50 million in revenue bonds for upgrades to 32 miles of transmission lines. The High Lonesome Mesa Wind Energy Center is a 40-turbine facility that was completed and brought to full capacity in 2010. The project has a 100-megawatt capacity and is delivering electricity across the Public Service Company of New Mexico’s lines from Torrance County to the Arizona state line. It is capable of generating enough electricity to power 30,000 homes.
